Challange

Guys,I've just tried to challange my self to listen to a difficult stage of generel listening quizz of esl-lab.com. I already listen to 4 audio and did the excercise, but I'm dissapointed about the score, I just got 80,80,60,60 for each audio. I need to learn more I think. :(

New Nice Learning Site

Hello, so long have not post in this blog, I'm back.. :)
By the way, I've just found a nice source to improve your English, the website is http://www.manythings.org, this site is very good for learn English. It can be use to improve your listening, writing and also your reading ( pronunciation) skill. I've heard some material from this blog, it's about the importance of washing hand and also about the infect of loneliness to social networks, you can try this website, it was very good website. :)

Audio and Video Review ( Bookstore VS Schoolarship )

Hi,
Tonight I'll share about a video titled ' Bookstore Shopping' from esl-lab.com. This video is about son an father's conversation. The son said to his dad that he will buy some stuff from bookstore. In fact, he also bought some gadget like phone and Ipad. His father wondered about how he pay those gadget. And in fact his son has take his credit card to pay those gadget.

The second one is an audio from the same website. This video is about a student who miss his test because of coming late. He lied to the lecture by blaming other things to make the lecture give him another chance. But it's just put him to a worse condition. The lecture failed him for the subject. So, you can learn something from this post " my name ". LOL.
I have done the exercise from esl-lab.com and I got 100 for both of the topic.

Wedding Anniversary ( Understanding Audio )

Well this is the last post for tonight. Oh, finally I finish it. Well, this audio is taken from esl-lab.com titled wedding anniversary. The audio is about anniversary of a couple's wedding and the husband always forgot the date of their anniversary ( I think most of man is very bad in remembering important moment). And the wife want a luxury anniversary as the negotiation for that man mistake and also buying her some new house tools and also new dress. So, this is how woman make revenge to the mistake made by man i think. This is a nice and funny conversation, you can listen to it and do  the exercise to see how much is your understanding. Making a Request ( Conversation Example )

Guys, I found a nice video for the example of making request .
There are 3 conversation on this video, the first conversation is about request for burning a CD, the second one is about request to fix a flat tire scooter , and the last one is about requesting to play a song.

Making Polite Request ( Conversation Example )

O.k, I will share a conversation as the example of polite request. The speakers are Erika and Andrew . Here it is :

E : Hi Andrew. How are you today?
A : Hi Erika. I feel awesome, what about you? By the way, you look fantastic today.
E : Thank you. But I don't have a good day. We have a math lesson, it was like hell, horrible.
A : How come?
E : I'm not good at it, but I know you are math star. Would you mind helping me? We are going to ride a        very important test tomorrow and I'm scared.
A : No, not at all, I would gladly help you.
E : Great. Could you come to my dorm at three this evening? Or are you busy?
A : No, I'm not. It will be a nice evening won't it?
E : I hope so. My room number 1236, fifth floor at 7p.m
A : Fifth floor? There will be alot of stairs waiting for me right? O.k I will be there at 7, bye.
E : See you.

Making Polite Request ( Video Review )

Hello everybody.
I'm going to review of my understanding of a video from my lecture's google account. It's about how to make a polite request in daily conversation.
Well, here some summary that I've made about the content of the video. The video is about the way to make polite request. To make polite request we could use :
- Please
- Could you please ( can be use in any contact )
- Would you
- Can you ( in informal conversation, you better use "could" for formal conversation )
- Would you mind

For answering request we can use this sentence :
- Of course.
- Never mind.
- Yes, I will
- With pleasure.
- No, you can use it ( for would you mind )
- etc.

For refusing the request you could say :
- Sorry, i ..
- I'm afraid if you cant ...
- etc.

Phrasal Verbs in English Conversation

      Well, let's learn a little about phrasal verbs in english conversation, you can watch video by anglo-link for further understanding, please click to see the video. Now, let's start learn some phrasal verbs above :

• called off => cancel
• put off => postpone
• taken up => occupied
• show up => make an appearance
• mess up => ruin
• worked up => angry
• taken over => bought
• lay off => make redundant
• end up => final result
• put up with => tolerate
• come up with => find

Difference British and American in Pronouncing English

Now, I will share about some different way of American and British in pronouncing some word for further understanding, please learn through this video from a youtube account, Anglo-link. Well, here's some differences of American and British English  pronouncing some words :
* R

•  When letter "r" were in the initial or in the middle position, there were a huge difference of American and British pronounce 
•  When the letter "r" were in the middle or at the end of word, in a monosyllabic word and after a vowel, British tend to drop it, but in American English there's no difference. 

* T

• British : letter " t " is always pronounce as [ t ]
• American : drop the " t" in the final position ( e.g table, attain, what, cut, etc. )  , sometimes change into [d] when "t" were in the middle position when its between two vowel or between "r" and the vowel ( e.g Saturday , what about, party , etc) , sometimes "t" drop after an "n" (e.g centre, interview, internet, etc. )

* Some other common word pronounce different way between American and British are : z, new, adult, brochure, garage, etc.

Collage Roommate Video Description ( Understanding a Video )

      In this occasion, I will share my understanding about the content of a video. I've got it from esl-lab.com titled Collage Roommates. This video is about two men's conversation of the first man ( I just named him Blaster ) and the second man ( I just named him Curly ) about the advertisement posted by Blaster to find a new roommate, but he has some bad habits and Curly advice him to make a mature change if he want to get a roommate.

     And here, I also add what I catch from the video about their conversation :

Blaster : Urgghh... It's good to be up. What a beautiful morning.

Curly    : Err.. It's a quarter to two, it's not the morning at all. What are you                doing in the kitchen anyway?

Blaster : Well, I'm going to make breakfast and check my e-mail to see if                    anyone has responded to my advertisement for a new roommate.

Curly    : Right... hahaha.. right...

Blaster : What did you mean "right"?

Curly    : Well, listen. Who is gonna live with you? You even can't take care of              your self.

Blaster : What are you talking about? I get up early every morning at 6.00 

Curly    : Err.. And about 6 hours to that?

Blaster : And..I always make new choices meals.

Curly    : Err.. I don't think Mc. Donalds big max in price count.

Blaster : And.. I keep my room very tidy.

Curly    : Err... I think I saw some of dishes, empty pizza boxes, and some                  real dirty shirt under your bed.

Blaster : And.. I go to bed at a very early hour.
Curly    : Do you call midnight early? Listen, keep it up! Unless you make                      some mature changes in your life, your only company will be your pet              fish roof.

       There also a life lesson from the video, we can learn that we should make some mature changes in our life to make everybody like to be in our side. First Voice

So here I am, creating a blog again. But I think this one will be the effective one. I have a will to be serious in posting some useful things for this blog, beside for completing my task to make a blog from my lecture. Actually i have ever think to make a new blog again but I don't have any good concept to make it become an interesting one. The task give me some kind of new inspiration anyway. So that task is not only as my duty but also as something inspiring for me. I hope everybody will get something useful from my post in this blog and please give any useful comment for the good progress for everybody. Every comment will be accept nicely as long as its said politely. And then let's start to hear each other. Yayy..!
